Has anyone used this clamping system? FCS clamps?

These things look pretty interesting.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

So are the studs mounting to threaded holes in the part? If so I can't think of a single part I've ever made that would have the proper mounting holes or ability to randomly install them in the part for these to be used.

It looks like CMM stuff, Renishaw has similar items.

Thinks like that have been around for a long time.  I've never seen an application for them.  Probably in large die/mold projects?

I've built some rather large trim dies and molds and never once would have needed them. Typically if we couldn't fit it in a vise we'd set it directly on the table and use toe clamps. Unless you're using every square inch of the table where you can't use a toe clamp, I see zero benefit.

And I have to imagine the extra height of those legs has got to add to the harmonics of the machine with tough materials like H13 and D2 increasing surface chatter and lowering tool life.

I'd love to see a real world use just to get my head around exactly how/why they are used over other devices.

Great system. I have had several customers use them over the years. They had no complaints after spending the $$$$$, but get our your Checkbook. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
