Players play and coaches coach.
That's the way it works.
Coaches answer to the GM and the owner, not the players.

Remember, Doug Pederson spent most of his playing career as a backup QB, and he knows the value of EVERY REP a backup can get in an actual game.
The players all know that, so their confusion doesn't make any sense, especially when Pederson TOLD THEM Sudfeld would be playing at some point.

Yes, players want to win games, but in the big picture, Coaches know that the difference between a 4-11 season and a 5-10 season doesn't mean shit.
I think Pederson was more interested in getting Sudfeld some live game reps than worrying about one more or one less win in an already shitty season.

If Jeff Lurie is pissed off about that decision we'll know soon enough.
Otherwise, the Head Coach is the Head Coach until the GM and the owner decide differently.
