A recall election has 2 items on the ballot
1. recall the corrupt party hack yes or no
2. a list of candidates to replace him

If 1 = no 2 does not apply
If 1 = yes the winner of 2 is the new governor

The Republicans have to be disciplined and only run ONE good candidate
The Dem's have to do the same

The last time this happened was the Gray Davis recall 20 years ago
Arnie the Terminator won because Davis was recalled and multiple Dems on the ballot split the Dem vote.
I doubt they will make that mistake twice
We will probably get rid of Newsome, but end up with a different ( and possibly even worse)
Dem governor.

They mailed out 22 million ballots, about 9 million have been returned and counted so far
People all over the state were told they had already voted when they showed up in person to vote
though I doubt the numbers involved were enough to change the results.

A whole lot of people do not like Newsome, but they voted to keep him
because they felt the other options were worse.
