:HIJACK (sort of):

Need to go down 1" in SS 304 using a #17 drill (0.173" dia). There's a lot of holes, 349 to be exact.

Using a VMC mill..

Speeds and feeds? IDK. I have 1.3 ipm at 717 spindle speed (values G Wizard rec'ed) First spot drilling, then peck drill at -0.17" (thru hole).

Help...

:HIJACK OFF (well, similar subject so):

Do you have coolant thru? Mitsubishi MVS0440X08S050 EDP:669329 We run a 4.5mm (.1772) S3170 F9.177 in 304 SST with no pecking.

Edit: also no spot drilling. If you feel the need to have a starter hole use a 3D drill. MVS0440X03S050 EDP:666486  The above drill is an 8D drill.

Waiting on a drill chuck. Old one in the shop no good. Already did spot drilling. Worked out fine.
