Quote from: JParis on August 14, 2024, 05:16 AM...I have also been through the entire Mitch series....I do believe now that Don Bentley is in that I am 1 or 2 books behind which will also get done at some point...

I think Kyle Mills did a good job continuing the series. I have since read his other books and enjoyed them as well.

The first Don Bentley book in the series drops Sept 3.

I'm current on all Jack Ryan, Jack Ryan Jr, Jack Reacher, Mitch Rapp, and Grey man books.  I listen to them on the way to work and back which gives me about an hour and forty five minutes a day listening.  I just listened to Tulsi Gabbard's book "For Love of Country".  It was pretty enlightening.  I also enjoy "Stupid" Sci-Fi books and have listened to the backyard starship series, the Bobiverse series, and Expeditionary Force books.  I don't listen to much non-fiction.  I get a big enough dose of that in real life and I see books as more of an escape.

My son just got me one of Jack Carr's Terminal List series books.... one that he signed at SLC Airport. So I guess I 'm gonna be buying the series.

Currently sharing the new Challenger shuttle book by Adam Higginbotham with the wife. Have his Chernobyl on order as well, was hard to find in hardcover. A testament to research, passion and hardcore journalism - if you're a non-fiction guy, his work is an absolute must. Textbook that reads like a thriller is about the best description.

Also my long term pick-it-up-and-try-again book has been Infinite Jest. Prescient in a really spooky way. I think it's been a year or two, but I lost it for a few months after cleaning the bathroom

They are great.

I follow him on social media. Always cracks me up to see him pulling books off the selves and signing them in airport bookstores.

I enjoyed the Bobiverse series. I also enjoyed the "Old Man's War" series by John Scalzi. His "Locked In" books are good too.

I joked with him (mynson) one day and said there's this guy that signs his books at the SLC airport (he lives near Park City. Jack Carr... get me one of his books. He found one... 🤣

A couple of months ago I (re)read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" after 40 years! It was interesting to note how much more (I think) I got out of it the second time around!

When I was a kid one of my favorites was just poring over the encyclopedias we had. I need to try to carve out a little more down time so I can read more (and not just the stuff I need to reference for work)-sigh....

Lol; it wasn't too long ago I was thinking about that book. It's probably been that long since I read.

When I was a kid my dad would take me to the library every week or so. He would just sit out in the car and wait while I browsed.
