I go on two drinking hiatus every year.  I try to spend at least half of every year dry. 

I don't have many vices but I tend to throw a few back on the weekends.  I never drink during the week. 

I'm not too far off from quitting for good.  Just a few drinks makes me feel like I'm going to die for the next two days.    That's why I never drink on work nights.

Last year for a check up.  I have to go in for cancer scans every two years as well. They look at my liver and lungs due to the type of cancer (melanoma).  Next year I move away from the MRI's and start getting blood work every year.  That will be a LOT cheaper and if I miss a checkup I can wrap all of the blood work in to one. MRI's are fn expensive and insurance these days is awful.  My next MRI I'll have to pay for out of pocket. It will be close to $8000 

I know that's TMI.  The short answer is not long ago.

Started getting a crippling hangover from 2 glasses of wine.
Quit drinking and got a blood test.. everything came back OK..
Back in the day I could party till 2 and make it to work at 6 feeling fine..

It wasn't about diligence really. After the cancer diagnosis it was more about survival.

I was the same. I never go to a doctor unless I absolutely have to.  Now, it's just a necessary evil. 

I'm still procrastinating on the things you're supposed to get done after 50. None of that shit sounds fun.  lol.

My Doc won't fill my scripts if I don't do what he says.

Low rad lung screen , colonoscopy , Ultrasound upper (neck and heart) and lower (Liver and kidneys). Blood work and a visit every 6 months.

I'm the same I hate Dr. visits.

By The way , My Doctor is "Micheal Myers" and He Scares Me.

It's not something I wish to learn. I have enough in my Head.

And I have enough of my own Issues to worry more.

But I understand. and I care.

What I'm saying is we all focus on internal issues. at my age I question a multitude of issues.

And sometimes spend hours worrying .

I actually waste more of my life thinking Bad things are gonna happen cause they do.

But when I hit the clean sheets at night. I Thank God for the Day.

And when I get a clear shot from the Doc . I go Whew!!
