Hey, it's not our fault that there was only one conference game; you gotta play who you play, and you gotta beat who you play, even if they are high school teams like Prairie View A&M. If we win one of the next two I'll be shocked, and we will have matched out total from last year.

As far as national rankings go, we are off the charts  8)

It's great when Spartan fans are so optimistic after being let down again and again and again.

The Tigers just unraveled.

Anybody see the Manning kid at Texas play?

Damn.

He might turn out to be OK.

Had a 70 yard TD on a called QB run.

I saw the highlights. Yeah he's supposed to be the best qb ever in the history of football if you believe the mountains of hype surrounding the guy. He did look good. But I haven't seen anything that makes me go "wow" yet.

I find it very disrespectful that when Texas would win a game last year and Manning had a handful of snaps because of the secured win. The post game interview the moron reporters would ask Quinn Ewers about Manning.

IDK, a guy named Manning, 6-4 230lbs, with a 70 yard TD run isn't something I've ever seen happen.

I guess his namesake, grandpa Archie, was pretty mobile. But only out of necessity, he was runnin for his life on those trash Saints teams. And he was a lot smaller this kid.

That is true lol. Peyton wasn't mobile and his mouth breather brother is terrible.

These hype trains are beyond absurd these days.

It used to be "shut up kid, you haven't done shit until you've done it on Sunday."

Kinda like these "influemcers" on Social Media... gifted at marketing and not much else.

We need to go back to prove yourself first.

A guy can dream.

I despise that term.
They aren't influencers they are social media personalities. The person that coined that phrases needs to be punched in the mouth.

There are some really good ones, but they are the .001%  the rest are just in it for donations, money and attention.

Hence the term 'attention wh0res'...  :harhar:

Yeah I think the Manning kid has the potential to be a gamer, but we will wait and see how he does over the whole season before getting too excited.
We'll need to see that TD/INT stat after the whole 12-game schedule, and see how they do against Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech.

I'm already amped up for USC @ Michigan, and Tennessee @ Oklahoma should be a pretty good scrap too.
Like James said, these are like mini-playoff games already and we are only going into Week 4.  8)

Ouch.
I thought home field advantage would be YUGE in this case.
Was it just a bad game against Texas, or is the Michigan D really that bad?

I just read they are switching QB's this week so that may give them a spark as well.

Our D is... decent. But a shadow of what it was last season.
The main issue is our O-line. They're all brand new starters, they can't run block making it impossible for our run game to get anywhere.
The 2nd main issue is the qb situation. Davis Warren and Alex Orji have limited experience.
Warren has been in the league for 37 years, played 7 high school games. Covid and Lukemia played a large part of him not getting game experience.
Orji is a 1 trick pony. He's made 4 pass attempts in his career at Michigan. He's been more of an option qb, so every time he enters the game, all the defense needs to do is play the run.
He's a fantastic athlete, big, fast and surprisingly has a cannon for an arm. Either he's not an accurate passer or he is unable to learn the pass plays.
Moore announcing that Orji will start 2 days ago just gives USC all the more time to prep for him. I don't know why he said that, it was unnecessary.

We do have Jack Tuttle, a decent, experienced QB that transferred a couple of years ago from Indiana (Illinois?) He can run the offense much better than it has been. He has been injured, but last week he was dressed. So it appears that he is game ready.

IMO Tuttle should be the starter. And for fucks sake, get a qb from the portal! How the hell they didn't do that before just blows my mind.

Then our receivers, inexperienced, can't seem to get open and botching the play.
The only bright light is our RB's who carried us to a narrow victory last week against a team that we should have beat by 40.
Donovan Edwards hasn't shown us anything of what we've seen in previous seasons but when he gets going he's almost unstoppable and it's been Kalel Mullings doing the heavy lifting.

I watched USC's first game and if they play like that against Michigan they'll beat us easily unless Michigan gets their heads out of their asses.

Michigan doesn't lose at home very often.

I'm just hoping we can keep it close like we did against LSU. Keep it close and don't make any big mistakes. We're still untested as far as I'm concerned.
