Quote from: Jeff on December 03, 2024, 09:25 AMthe committee will try like hell to squeeze in Miami I think. They're a really good team but had 2 really bad losses.

Ain't no way Miami is gettin in IMHO

This aged well. What bowl game does a 5-7 team get invited to? LOL.

I wouldn't think so, but you just never know.

Rumor has it that USC's Miller Moss is coming to Michigan next year for the backup spot.
I thought he played a really good game against us, he must have fallen off hard.

Well well well, guess who they picked for the #12 spot!
THE U!

I'm tellin ya, this team when they're clicking on all cylinders is a serious threat to anyone.
And if SMU wins, they will stay at that spot.
If Clemson wins, they'll most likely get bumped.

OK I realize Oregon is about a 60/40 favorite over Penn State in the Big 10 Championship game.
They are the unbeaten #1 ranked team, so the oddsmakers give them the respect they deserve.

However...
Wisconsin had Oregon on the ropes a couple of weeks ago and nearly pulled off the upset.

Yeah, Oregon came back in the 4th quarter to win the game, which is what good teams do.
But the fact remains that Wisconsin showed there are weaknesses there to be exploited.

I'm hoping the Penn State players and coaches are studying that Wisconsin vs. Oregon game film frame-by-frame all this week as they prepare for Saturday's game.  We know these games are all about preparation and execution, so if another team showed your opponent's weaknesses there's no reason for Penn State to not be 100% prepared for this game.

Execution is another story, but I think if PSU keeps it a close game, they could have a shot.

Yeah, I know...don't remind me.  :wallbash:  :hairpull:

I would settle for 2-13 after Saturday's game though!

PSU has to contain the QB, and the WR's. If they can do that, then they might have a chance.
But then you'd also have to stop their RB who's no slouch with 1200yards and 13 td's. And Gabriel has 7 rushing td's too.

You're gonna need all of the luck you can get but I don't see Oregon losing a game from here on out if they stay healthy.

Yeah that's exactly what Wisconsin did.
Gabriel is a dynamic QB but they were able to contain him and limit the run game about as well as anyone has.

I have no illusions, but if Penn State's D shows up, maybe even creates a turnover or two, they could be a difference maker.
I like the way our D-Line and LB's have been playing, but the secondary is a bit suspect.

If they give Oregon's WR's too much room, they will get smoked all day long.  :wallbash:

BUT THAT'S WHY WE PLAY THE GAMES!!

^ He's on the hot seat. Good not great coach. Gotta beat Michigan to keep his job (which he can't).
