If they would have done this in 2020 it would be commendable, but doing that in May 2024 is asinine.

I remember flu cases dropping during the height of Covid, but we've had plenty of people at our shop get the flu over the last two years. 

I don't have Cable TV so I can't tell you what the National averages are since Covid, but it hasn't disappeared from our shop. Over half of us are old as fuck though.

I don't know if these investigations are some kind of a cover up, but it's the Republicans that are fueling the conspiracy here in the US and they are the ones holding these hearings.

Democrats made it fertile ground for conspiracy theories by constantly lying, by trying to tell us what we say with our own eyes was not true, by telling us one thing-changing their story-and then saying, "I Never said that"

But here is what anybody with a brain knows for sure. In a time of uncertainty, Democrats went all in on controlling the masses, and republicans tried to give us as much freedom as possible. That's the tell. That's the inclination you are voting for when you vote. More control or more freedom.

This is true, but there are conspiracy theories being pushed years later, like Fauci is responsible for funding the virus that become the global pandemic and there is just no evidence for it. In fact, after watching these hearings, it's been shown that it wouldn't have even been possible.  I'll probably stop talking about this after this post because I know this is hot button for some.

Yes, and this is all in hind sight. Nobody knew how to deal with this. The Dems took a more 'lock it down' approach and came out looking like authoritarian a-holes. Nobody knew what it was going to take to "slow the curve" (I hate that term lol).  That's why I'm hoping, probably naively, that because of people like Desantis and his willingness to try to let some things ride, they'll be a little more relaxed next time.

Beej, I'm already in the middle of the second 3-1/2 hour hearing. I've heard about these emails repeatedly. I'm going to watch the last hearing tomorrow probably and that is the hearing with David Morens. I get the feeling that's going to be juicy.

Neuro, I think you're missing it. This wasn't a "one-off" thing they tried. this is the Democrat mode of operation. Their answer to a problem, any problem is control the population.

Dem tendencies:
Someone gets shot, control population's right to get guns
Someone says something you don't like, control population's speech
Prices go up, control the prices
democrats add more and more regulation to housing and then use government spending to make housing cheaper
democrats add more and more regulation to health industries and then use government spending to make health cheaper
democrats add more and more regulation to agriculture and then use government spending to make food cheaper
democrats add more and more regulation to energy, they are not doing anything to make energy cheaper.

The fact that they feel they need to control us, tells us what they think of us.
