I sometimes check the news channels at the top of the hour to see if anything noteworthy is happening. That's how I found it about the assassination attempt.

If there's no news, CNN will be talking about Trump. Fox will be talking about Biden/Harris. And I change the channel.

Had to edit that.  Not newsmax.  News Nation.. lol.  I haven't seen newsmax since I had cable.


If I want to see National news I have to watch newsmax News nation.  or occasionally I'll turn on ABCGO in the morning. I leave for work at 2am so there isn't a lot of choices for live streaming news.


Thurs - Sunday I watch local news on Tubi.  They stream all of the local news channels live.

My wife and I were waiting to be seated at a restaurant and I was checking out X (used to be Twitter)
It popped up live within a minute of the shot and we watched it live as it was happening. Pretty cool

We were sitting in the bar waiting on our table, and for another couple to show up. When they got there, my buddy asked if I'd checked twitter lately. I said, no. We watched it on his phone for a bit. It was crazy.

I actually hit it on X just as someone made a shots fired at Trump rally post.
Then there was a Trump's been hit post with no word of hit condition followed by the iconic Fight, Fight, Fight photo
It was pretty tense for a couple of minutes.,

I get push notifications of breaking news on my phone from an app called newsbreak. The first notification I got was a headline, "Trump falls down while giving speech"
