Yes, I hope you can avoid the surgery, Mike, but it is what it is.

Back in the early 90's, I was involved in a roll-over car accident.  In the process, I fractured my left collar bone.  It didn't break through just splintered on one side while the other side was still connected.  The doctor put me in one of the figure 8 slings.  I found comfort on a pillowy couch we had at the time.  I would rest my head on the arm and let my shoulders fall back with gravity lying on my back.  However, one time when I went to get up, my left shoulder snagged one of the pillow backs of the couch and I heard an audible *SNAP*.  I never have felt pain like that.  As most men do, I toughed it out even though my arm swelled to about twice it's normal size with the skin tight as a drum and warm.  Next visit to the doctor for a followup, they took x-rays and the doctor came to me with a quizical look on his face.  He asked me, what happened that a fractured bone was now broken in two.  I told him what had happend, at which point he kinda sternly told me I should have come in, but it healed fine and all was good.  I'll never forget that snap though.

Collarbone stories are sometimes brag-worthy in younger years. This one has fallen short, but at least style points for the backward flip..

LOL!! I have pulled down a couple shower curtain rods. :o  Layin naked on the floor. I was just Lucky.
