Engineering is telling management that everything is released so management thinks everything is held for programming.

Meantime, we're held for engineering because they designed everything without consulting AFP programming. We could make parts with the original shitty designs, mostly, but run times would have been outrageous and the parts would be shit.

My first thought was, hell, they don't have the inspection process in place to know they are shitty, so who cares?

Then reason took over and I realized that's exactly why I should do my best to make good parts.

Fuckin' baby engineers.

They look so surprised when we tell them that's not the way this works.

In my spicier days, I answered my own questions...
Me: "What were you thinking?"
Engineer: 😳
Also Me: "Nevermind, if you were thinking, you would've thought that."

Now I just show them and their boss the bill for their folly and let it simmer.

Me: You can have this feature for $3,000 of machine time and tooling wear, or you can do this other thing for $125. You pick. Makes no difference to me, I get paid by the hour.
