By myself, no. With my wife, yes.

I'm classified as salary but I still get paid for overtime. I get straight time plus 8.50. But I rarely work ot.

I was hourly from when I started in 1991 or 1992 until I went to work for Mori Seiki in 1996. There I went to Salary Non-Exempt (salary + OT which there was on average maybe 2-3 hours/wk on average).

When I went to work for the SoCal Mastercam Dealer I was salary + commission.

When I went back to work in a shop as a programmer, the position was Salary Exempt (which is not legal in California, but I agreed to the terms and was fine with the arrangement). I've always said that you either agree to the terms of employment or you don't. The state should not be able to mandate the terms of my employment. The state should not tell me when I am required to take a break. I'm a grown up. I can decide that for myself.

When when I started my own business (Consulting and Programming) and that was "basically" an hourly position.

Since January 2007 I've been at the same place and am Salary Exempt. I probably still do not qualify for Salary Exempt in any legal sense since I have no people that report to me in any hierarchical way, though I do drive some departmental policy. Again, I'm completely fine with the arrangement. I do work a lot, but I believe I am fairly compensated for my time and effort which should be the overriding factor with regard to compensation.

I do not publicly state my compensation for a variety of reasons, but, I will state I earn EVERY penny of it and my employer agrees. When raises are economically viable for the company, I get the max raise EVERY time without exception. When bonuses are available, I get the max percentage every time without exception.

Post an anonymous poll and I may be inclined to share. I do participate in anonymous salary surveys when the opportunity arises.

If I made as much money as I spend at my job....well I would have no problem blowing past the 1% mark and would be closing in on the .1%, and that was last month.

For whatever reason my compensation isn't directly tied to what I spend.
