Anyone use these things?

I'm considering setting up a home lab after the new year and trying to decide whether or not to go with something like these, or use a minipc and set up my own.

I don't know anything about unifi so am curious if anyone has any experience with it.

I have PFSense running on a Protectli Hardware PC that feeds into a Unifi System.
I have multiple VLAN's running thru it all, each with their own Firewall rules:
Home, Guest, and IOT (Home Assistant, Smart TV's, and all other IOT stuff)

CloudKey+ UCK-G2-SSD
Lite 16 PoE Switch
(3x) U6-Pro PoE Access Points
Soon to add some UVC-G4-BULLET Cameras

I like it all so far, easy to setup and administer.
A bit spendy for what you actually get.

Microtik makes some nice stuff too.

We have switched over our network to Unifi. All of our firewall/switches are now Unifi. We have it at both locations with a VPN tunnel connecting them. Gives us direct access to servers and software at both locations like you in the same building. The web app is quite handy for trouble shooting issues. I have a lot of Ethernet IP enabled devices in my automation cells and being able to manage IP's and check connectivity and usage is nice.

As the POS Mazak "SmartDumb Boxes" died IT went with these for the machine communications across the board.

Gives them access to get info out of the machines they need and using the port forwarding function the DNC has access to all the machines.

I know IT likes them

A network admin friend of mine recommends Mikrotik.

The thing that interested me with the Ubiquiti stuff is the ease of use. I'm not real thrilled that they had a massive data breach a few years back. By an employee no less.

I probably need to spend some time mapping out exactly what I'd like to accomplish.  At minimum, I'd like to get my cameras on their own vlan. I may separate my media center as well. Unifi would make the set up super simple.
