Mine wasn't a fast-food job, but a Mom & Pop place in our town called The Crystal Restaurant.

I worked there in 1975-76 bussing tables and washing dishes during the dinner-time shift from after school until closing.

I made $2.10 an hour, and left when I got a better offer to work in my dad's cousin's grocery store stocking shelves and working the deli counter for $2.50 an hour.

My mom made me get a job at 16 while still in high school.
I was a busboy and dishwasher. $3.35/hour.
I was rich when I got that 40 hour paycheck every 2 weeks.

Two minutes of research will show that her father held a PhD and was a Professor of Economics @ Stanford, and her mother was a prominent cancer research scientist who also held a PhD and worked for one of the premier cancer research facilities in SOCAL at the time.
