RAM and video card only make a difference when you hit a certain scale and complexity.  When I was doing die cast vent / chill blocks years ago I was maxing out my 32GB RAM on stock models.  Now doing bone plates I have 64GB, but use a fraction of that RAM, simply because my stock model resolution is the same but the parts are smaller.
