As someone who leans Repub but has never liked Trump, it is my sincere hope that Dem Party leadership, their supporters in the media and pop culture, take this as an opportunity for some honest self reflection.

I do not like single party control at any level of .gov.

The Dems have the opportunity move back towards the center. To abandon policies and candidates that the overwhelming majority of Americans find crazy. To embrace merit and dismiss intersectionality points as their priority selection criteria.

Or, they can double down, as they did in 2016. They can bitterly cling to their belief that their losses are due to this being a fundamentally racist, misogynistic nation. They can continue to lecture and belittle vast swaths of the electorate. And, they can continue to lose.

The choice should be easy, but I doubt it will be.

The legacy media should be doing the same self examination.

The 2 logical explanations being:
1) The people weren't buying what we were selling
2) We should have done more to persuade them

...Voter turnout matters. As of a few minutes ago, Trump was at 71 million votes and Harris, 66 million. Last I checked, the US population was 335 million, with 262 million of voting age. That means Trump has the support of 27% of voting aged Americans, which is better than Harris' 25%.  Not quite the majority that you think it is, unless your math is different than what the rest of us use.

Either way, using the metrics we have available, it's more support than Harris has.

I am not for one second going to project the support/lack thereof of the 52% of remaining voting age adults... like you did/are.

I only know the vote counts. 2% more... is 2% more. Unless you're doing Democrat Budget math Bucky, then as the rest of us observant and thinking individuals all know, 2% more is is ackshully less... according to Democrats.

My wife and I were flipping through all the media channels last night and we stopped on I think it was CBS... nah..... I don't remember, anyway the guy talking was an african-american gentleman, and he said something to the effect of .... you think you can come at a dude with all that lawfare, doin' him dirty since day one and black men in this nation aren't gonna take notice?

I thought that was an astute observation.

Nearly all the liberal media outlets were banging the same sad drum even when it was crystal clear that THEIR candidate was the loser... "her path forward just got a little tighter but she could pull it off".

Still very little to no culpability that their 100% negativity towards Trump and ANYONE associated with him AND their 100% in the bag for the whore except maybe for the final week or two when they FINALLY started to acknowledge out loud that her policies were problematic "to some".
