Quote from: JParis on November 14, 2024, 06:20 AMOh, we have an ERP system...it's currently a mess and a work in progress...

PLM has quickly become a necessity as we have so much that isn't connected to each other.

Imagine if you will, an integrated CAD/CAM application, which runs on its own PDM.... *cough*

Nope

Would not work in our structure.

Too many things to completely start over.

At this point what I really need to do is to come up a template.

We already generate most of the documents,  need to get them into a format so it is stored online and accessible at all of the machines

Do you have monitors at all the machines John?
PDF is surely your best format for standardisation to stop people editing on the shopfloor?

I understand.

However, when one adds up all the pain, cost, more pain, and more cost.... changing systems over time can be cost effective.

Not saying it is a solution for you. I had a customer who changed from a CAM system to TopSolid. After two months, they looked at TS Design, and switched from Solidworks. They're digging the whole PDM CAD CAM Setup Sheet, Inspection Sheet jive.

But, yeah. If you cant stomach it as CNCAppsGuy says :)
