Quote from: Dan_AKA_ROY23 post_id=8905 time=1616712175 user_id=82I got sick 15 months ago and had breathing issues that lingered for a few months. I don't want none of that.

Ever think you may have had COVID back then?
Many people report being sick before the first known cases were even documented, so there is a theory that it may have already been spreading before it was even identified.  It IS possible...

I've posted about that. Yes, I do. My nephew is a former nurse and at that time (still is) worked as a claims processor for Medical Mutual. Serious respiratory claims began shooting up (near vertical!) around DEC 2019. They didn't know what was going on. People were getting critically sick and dying.

He thinks I definitely had it and he's the furthest thing from a conspiracy guy. Very level headed (SMART guy). Off the record, doctors were saying by FEB/MAR that COVID was here by DEC 2019.

So, yeah. I got the vax. I want NO PART of that again! It a terrifying feeling sucking in air and not getting enough oxygen. I was sick as a dog for awhile. My breathing got back to normal after 3 months.

Overall, I'd say I had a moderate case. The constant coughing stopped after 2 weeks. The sore throat subsided after 3 or 4 days. I could barely swallow it hurt so much...

So, we've all had sore throats before. I never had a sore throat that bad before...My lungs were filled with congestion after a day or two. The day after I first got sick (noticed something was very wrong that Friday night) is when I got scared. ALMOST called 911. It was the Clemson Ohio State playoff game that Saturday night. I managed to get out of bed and turned on the game sitting in my recliner. Wasn't fun. Barely paid attention to the game... When your struggling to catch your breath, sports isn't at the top of your mind...

I had the chance to get the one shot, so I took it. I have no drug allergies. And there was no out of pocket cost.
The only other vaccines I've had are smallpox and polio.
It seemed to me there was very little risk so why not?
BTW, I'm fine today. No lingering effects.
I even got paid from my work for the time it took to go get it.

It's a very good vaccine from people in the know telling me, Mike. Wise move. Glad no effects. I didn't have any side effects, either. 2nd shot APR. 13...

First Dan, I'm not criticizing anyone who got the vaccine, and I'm not an anti-vaxxer.
I am wary of THIS vaccine because even though the mRNA theory has been around for decades, this is the first time it is being used on a massive scale.
Long-term effects are still an unknown, and anyone who says differently simply has no data to back it up.

My choice is to not take the vaccine until the first test group has had it in their systems for a while, and real mid-term and long-term data can be determined.  I am relatively low-risk other than being almost 60, but I have none of the significant comorbidities like obesity, diabetes, heart disease, or asthma.  As long as I still have a choice, it will be a while, if ever, that I would take any kind of mRNA vaccine.

As for you, yes it sounds like you may have had COVID back in December 2019 along with lots of other people.
The good news is that if it didn't kill you then, your body already managed to fight it off using your own built-in immunity system.
Getting the vaccine on top of already (maybe) having your own natural antibodies should put you way ahead of the game as far as never getting it again, so that's a good thing!

The effectiveness of partial immunization was seen two weeks after the first dose, according to the CDC, which looked at nearly 4,000 health care personnel, first responders and frontline workers between Dec. 14 and March 13. The health care workers in the study, which was published Monday, had no previous laboratory documentation of Covid-19 infection.

Quote from: JParis post_id=8476 time=1616066970 user_id=139Day 4(yesterday) after 2nd dose, I had what they refer to as "Covid Arm"

Soreness at the injection site, major itchiness though I did not get the generally associated rash that some report....today other than a bit of tenderness at the injection site, nothing else is going on...the other symptoms only lasted about 12 hours.

Never mind (disagreed previous post).

(I meant to say "disregard" not "disagreed)

You should be fully vaccinated now. Some say wait 3 weeks, but you should be good by now.

Congrats!

I had no effects. Mildly sore arm. It's been one week from today (Pfizer 1st dose).
