You ain't dat. Yet. Give it 2 weeks and you'll be about 80%. 2 weeks after 2nd dose 90%.

I know what you mean. It's a good feeling. I would have paid thousands for it. Free... best money never spent.

CDC says after 2 weeks 1st dose (Pfizer and Moderna) is 80% real world effective. After 2 weeks 2nd dose 90% effective real world. They studied healthcare workers for a 3 month period.

Why I'm posting again is what I find interesting is they found the body manufactures 10X the growth antibodies after receiving the 2nd dose (compared to after the 1st dose). So, I take it as the T cells (immune system's attackers) are closer to full strength after 1st dose. The B cells get to full strength after the 2nd dose (B cells make the antibodies).

(90% effective vaccine is stellar. And of the few% who do contract COVID, it rarely ever gets you that sick.)

Studies from CDC show J&J vaccine is "only" about 66% effective (which is actually pretty good). However, it is a very good vaccine. Those who do contract COVID after J&J vac fight it off successfully w/o having to go to the hospital.

My niece got sick after 2nd dose of Pfizer (felt fine after 1st dose). She's an oncology doctor and surgeon. She said that's good. The vaccine is working.

Just a guess, but I read the 2nd dose really ramps up the bodies' antibody production (as I mentioned previous post). Like 10X the amount compared to 1st dose. I suspect that may be the reason those reporting to get sick are usually always after the 2nd dose.

Some thoughts that I posted to Farcebook earlier...

I constantly hear,  "that Covid is 99% survivable"
Well, the statistics bear that out.... there is a BIG but to consider....
If you end up with Covid will you be one of the people that's gets through it with little trouble or will you be one of the people that end up in the hospital for a month, suffer long term symptoms and permanent lung damage?
The statistics can't show you that.
While I still believe everyone should make their own choice in getting the shot, I also think they need to factor in their own unknown reaction quotient.
JM2C YMMV

I made an appointment a couple weeks ago for the 15th to get me and the wife stabbed with the J&J vaccine. Wife found out this morning that our local, small town pharmacy has the J&J and tons of open appointments. She went at 9 this morning, I'm going at 4 this afternoon.

She says it hurts likes hell. We both tend to tolerate tetanus shots poorly and she claims this one is worse.

We have a lot of travel plans coming up soon so I'd like to get it and deal with any side effects before we hit the road later this month.

Yes.. my shop got hit pretty hard
We've got 120+ employees.
It started with one guy. He got sick, but he carpooled with 3 other guys
All 4 guys worked in different departments.
In a matter of 2 weeks we had 80 positive tests and about 40 people who got sick.
Of the people who got sick about half got over it like a case of flu.
Others recovered but still report breathing problems months later.
One person, previously healthy, in his mid fifties has 30% breathing capacity 6 months later.
As things stand, he will never be back to work.

Personally my wife and I never even considered not getting vaccinated.
My wife's doctor works as an emergency room doc at a local hospital and he read her the riot act.

That sucks.

I got the Pfizer shot and didn't feel a thing. Arm had a little soreness later that day but no big deal at all.

Let us know, Greg..
