You're not even close...

...to being wrong. I have large scale worries about what lies ahead for privacy (which nobody I interact with on a daily basis cares about in any minute capacity, unfortunately), digital freedom, and financial freedom. Imagine knowing what every demographic does at all times with their movement and their money? Used to be "well that's so much data it's useless". Enter our neuro-network era, now the task doesn't seem so daunting.

Imagine your right to travel, work, marry, have children or own a home all determined by your social credit score.

your access to your money degraded or removed because of improper political behavior or beliefs.

All of this is already technologically possible and is already being done to some extent in China.

It was also done in Canada during the Covid trucker's strike. Truckers who participated in the demonstrations and blockades found their access to their bank accounts removed and their commercial
driver's licenses rescinded.

I expected massive political blowback for Turdoux and his ilk, but that doesn't seem to have happened.

I can only partially agree with this. Elon would not have bought twitter and partnered with Trump if he believed in totalitarian control over people. He wouldn't want to DOGE cut $2T from the federal budget and reduce gov debt if he wanted to see WeChat type gov monitored control. He does though think his vision for X being the everything app as being good for society. The problem is that the rest of the elite and political class want to use it to control society for their benefit/power. He has also expressed his concerns over AI in the same light.

So if he is part of the "system" then why did the system turn on him after he embraced free speech? Why did they attack his businesses with regulations and other red tape BS? For as much of a realist and he seems, Elon is an optimist to the point of naivety about how his intentions could be manipulated and used by those with bad intentions.
