I agree. Disgusting stuff.  :hrhr:

Hell, if you're gonna get the double cheeseburger and large fries go ahead and get that big Gulp of sugar water to wash it down with!

Having said that, I haven't had a soda of any kind in a lot of years.

Quote from: Smit on December 05, 2024, 09:11 AMBingo! We have a winner here.

More government regulations are the answer. Fk freedom of choice. More government regulations could control food additives and the absolute shit we have in our food here. Mandatory exercise, everybody outside at 6 AM for PT!

And who in the fk needs a 4 liter big Gulp of soda pop with their supersized fries and double cheeseburger anyway!?!? Get a diet coke for Chrissakes!

Failing that, if people would just be healthy our problems would just go away. After all we have the best health care in the world is you're healthy or wealthy. :)

It's not about adding regulations, it's about removing the bullshit FDA approved stamps in all the chemicals, dyes, etc that are added to foods. The FDA is just as corrupt as the pharmaceutical/insurance/.gov bullshit.

Ah, I see.

If the FDA went away then the companies who provide our food would just do what's best for all of us because it's the right thing to do, out of the goodness of their hearts.

I didn't say that. Good job trying to put words in my mouth. I said remove all the bullshit "FDA Approved" stamps from the bullshit chemicals they are making our food with that are ILLEGAL IN OTHER COUNTRIES. Those other countries know they are dangerous, but for some reason it's perfectly safe in America. Cross the border into Canada and you'll find a drastically different food ingredient list on the same items than here.

Nah it's just me.

My Republican Brother Robert and I are finally seeing the shining light Reko was talking about.

Get rid of gov and people will just do the right thing.

What a nice, warm, cuddly vision of the future. :)

OK, thanks for clarifying. Get rid of the bullshit stamps and leave the non bullshit stamps in place.

How the hell can anybody argue with simple logic like that?

Maybe we can outsource our food additive stamping to Canada or France?

It was either an article I read or a documentary I watched not long ago that talked about how our health care professionals aren't trained to promote lifestyles that prevent chronic illnesses etc. This is a problem in the US.
...
If we look at the the way in which our medical professionals are trained combined with the human desire to take the easy way out, it makes perfect sense that they focus on treatment rather than prevention.

Take every major medical school in the US... it's run/housed within a college or university. Professors, as part of their contractual responsibilities are required to publish "stuff". In the course of that publishing, the end goal of said publishing is to generate income for the college/university, typically that means patents and grants. Who provides the money for those grants? Who pays for  the R&D at these colleges and universities and who benefits from those patents? MANY entities that do not have our best interests in mind pure and simple. How often are strings attached to those grants? 99.999999999999999999999999999999% of the time.

So, until we can wean colleges and universities off the teat of corporate and government money, we have what we have, and that's all that we have. And what we have are a bunch of echo chamber living propagandists who's livlihood depends on those teats screeching at the rest of us "trust the science", ""you're just a science denier", blah, blah, blah.

You can't patent something that grows/occurs naturally. You can't control that. You have to modify it in some way, then you can claim it as your own and profit from it.

And to top it all off... the VAST majority of americans just want to take  a pill. They want to eat what they want. They want to drink as much as they want. They want to do what they want, when they want and they don;t want to accept any of the impacts of that behavior.

Gays want to gay and not get AIDS. People want to sleep around and not get STD's. People want to sleep around without the consequence of pregnacy. People want to eat fast food and not suffer those consequences. Etc, etc., etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
