I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Del.

Guys family is rich. They own Rest homes and golf courses  etc. So obviously it wasn't about money.

You know, it IS possible to not like the way Insurance companies do business & still not think it's "ok" to assassinate someone in cold blood.

He thinks Pelosi is a Senator...

But as conspiracy theories go, this one IS at least plausible.

I would be a lot happier if it were more difficult to speciously deny medical insurance claims for profit. When people are dying, or even suffering, do to greed it makes it difficult to have sympathy for the ass hole(s) making the decisions.

You are right though.

Del.

Makes you wonder what triggered a smart guy like this to kill.

Fox News is saying ObamaCare.
Obamacare allows kids to stay on their parent's health insurance policies until they are 25.
He had suffered a debilitating back injury and recently turned 26.

from here, I'm guessing

He got dropped from his parents plan when he turned 26
He tried to buy his own plan, which was hellish expensive and/or he was denied coverage due to his back being a preexisting
condition.

The family had more than enough money to pay cash for any treatment he needed.

This dude was bigtime anti-capitalist (another word for communist). Funny how that works, you know attending ivy league schools which cost $$$$$.  But, But, Eat The Rich! lmfao

Also, this dude really enjoyed the magic mushrooms and all kinds of psychedelics.  Maybe he was just on a bad trip?

I've read that he did have some health issues, including major back surgery, but not really any direct conflict with health insurance company decisions. I haven't got that he was a big time anti capitalist; it seems he was targeting health insurance companies in particular.

Maybe he perceived things were just really messed up (apparently many people agree) and decided to do something about it?

This from the AP.

Excerpt:

QuoteA law enforcement bulletin obtained by The Associated Press said that at the time of his arrest, Mangione was carrying a handwritten document expressing anger with what he called "parasitic" health insurance companies and a disdain for corporate greed and power.

He wrote that the U.S. has the most expensive health care system in the world and that profits of major corporations continue to rise while "our life expectancy" does not, according to the bulletin.

Sounds like all that fancy and expensive education turned him into an America hating nutjob lunatic.
Maybe he had a falling out with his parents.
We had a family at our church who had a daughter that went to Berkley. They were not wealthy, but had been saving money for years and between that $$ and the girl getting a sports scholarship, she got in.
Berkley ruined her. By the end of her freshman year she was a blue haired woke lunatic, disowning her racist, sexist parents and screaming about gay/trans rights and killing the patriarchy.
I don't know how it has turned out. The family was pretty much busted up the last I heard.

We've all been raised to believe a college education is a good thing, but these days, I'm not so sure.

That isn't the point. Look at famous people that wanted to get scholarships to prominent D1 schools for their kids ...I think it's the principle of the matter
