Anyone following his murder trial?
They are in the second day of deliberation this morning.
Trying him for murder is a total farce IMO.

If he is convicted, the first act of Trump's presidency should be a full pardon for this guy.

The prosecutor on this case once reduced a felony murder conviction to manslaughter.

An 87 year old white man was murdered during a robber by a black man with a lengthy criminal record.

She reduced the killer's conviction because he had suffered a hard life.

You just can't make this shit up.

The president can only pardon somebody for federal charges. Not state charges.

Jury deliberations should have taken however much time is required to fill out the form. The fact they didn't tells me the best case for Mr Penny at this point is a hung jury.

Another lesson to take away from this case, NEVER talk to cops without a lawyer. EVER.

I don't think the cops who interviewed him were out to burn him. I would guess they were shocked he was even charged.

deadlocked on the manslaughter charge
they can't proceed to the negligent homicide charge without an unanimous decision
on the manslaughter charge.
At the moment it's unknown whether the judge will tell them to try some more or dismiss.
He's been a biased POS all along so I'm betting he send them back to work some more.

It's not justice but way better than a guilty verdict.
It was so f'ing wrong to charge that kid in the first place!!!!
The jury should have come back not guilty on all charges in 15 minutes.

The judge sent them back to the jury room, stating
"This is not the time for a mistrial"
and ordering them to "be flexible"
This judge is a corrupt SOB, putting his thumb on the scale.
There are plenty of grounds for appeal if he is convicted.

We don't know it there is a holdout against a not guilty verdict
or a holdout for a guilty verdict.

To make matters worse for the kid, the dead guy's father has filed a wrongful death suit.

The jury deliberated for an hour and came back for a 2nd time
telling the judge they cannot reach a verdict.
Whether the jury is hung in favor of acquittal or conviction is unknown.

gcode

The DA has dismissed the manslaughter charge so the jury can consider
the negligent homicide charge.
That's not how things are supposed to be done.
This trial is a modern day lynching.
