I'd love to see the way this develops....because you still need the basics
Part number
Revision + change log number and date
Material
Finish
Important notes such as paint masking positions and tolerance of placement, masking of certain holes etc.
Also all the relevant specs that apply such as any company specs etc.
It all has to be "encompassed somewhere"....like it currently is on a print.

Absolutely. I'm not sold that it can even happen, tbh. Aside from a digital print included as a level, and then we're just moving laterally.

We know from our perspective what information is necessary to make the part correctly, and I'm not certain that the personnel involved on a high level project like that agree/know what that info is. I'm sure there are some folks in manufacturing involved, but by my assumption this is the equivalent of theoretical physics in engineering.

At the end of the day it really is a huge undertaking. Computer science, engineering, manufacturing, maybe these projects stall because there aren't enough multi-disciplined experts with motivation to get it done?

The resellers bought so far, the employees have become Mastercam employees.

Whether some decided to not take the offer, that I cannot speak to, I have no knowledge either way

Many of the resellers were/are family owned businesses that became Mastercam resellers 20 to 30 years ago.
Their hard work and personal support are what made Mastercam what it is today.
I do not know how many ex-owners elected to remain or if they were even offered the opportunity to remain.
Their life's work was essentially taken from them by force and it would be very hard to make the transition from
owner to an employee in a company you used to own.
