I live on a state route that has a high priority for plowing, so that has never been an issue for us.

The only thing I don't like is when the state plow truck comes by and leaves a fresh mound of snow that blocks the end of my driveway, but I can live with that in exchange for having the main road plowed regularly.

we're having high winds here is California

The power company has informed me they may have to shut my power off for up to 48 hours if the winds get too high
Cali has become a 3rd world country. We can't even keep the power on anymore.

I call those snow dams. Or damns! :)

I cleared one of those yesterday from the initial plow, and when the plow comes by again and finishes both sides of the street I'm going to have to do it again.  :realmad:

The other option is to have PG&E or SCE burn entire communities to the ground. Both are unacceptable.

or better yet, spend more $$$ on infrastructure maintenance and less on green energy boondoggles.

Green California is a myth... we spend billions on green energy boondoggles but the actual truth is
we import most of our power from out of state coal powered plants.

I went out yesterday to try to get my car unstuck. I got it started and backed right out. Surprised the heck out of me.

LOL...yep.

I also have 50 feet of sidewalk in front of my house that I need to constantly keep cleaning every time the plow comes by.

Also, being a state route, the more aggressive state plow truck drivers completely ignore the 25mph speed limit through our residential stretch of the road, often zooming by @ 35-40 mph. This sometimes throws snow and slush all the way onto my front steps, as well as dinging up the vinyl siding on the front of my house with stones and chunks of ice.

I have complained to our PA Department of Transportation, but to no avail.

Del.

My neighbor always parks their vehicles on the street. They have their big suburban right behind my steep driveway. If I slide any at all I will hit it. Pisses me off neighbor just doesn't care. Their driveway will hold 10 cars.

The reason I will never buy a corner lot with a sidewalk, ever, again. Had over 250ft at a previous house and no snowblower. And every time it snows, even an inch it's not always just the inch that you have to shovel, it drifts up to the top of the snow, so one inch can turn to 2ft+ by the end of the year.  :realmad:

The 15ft of sidewalk I now have is plenty, the 3 car driveway still sucks but I'll take that anytime over the stupid sidewalks I am forced to maintain.

Run your sprinklers at night... make sure they spray his cars so they get nice and icy in the winter and nice and spotty in the summer.

A coworker just had double hernia surgery, and he was back at work within a couple of days.
I asked him what the weight limit was he was allowed to carry and he said 10lbs but I pushed it to a case of beer (20 lbs).
