If he (Goldgerg) was stored in the contact list using an abbreviation, it doesn't surprise me that he was accidentally added to a chat group. I'm more surprised that they add people to the groups without 100% knowing who it is that they're adding. It also doesn't surprise me that people at that level of government would have Reporters in their contacts.

Maybe one of Waltz's aids added him to the group to discredit Hegseth? We don't know.
You'd think if Goldberg had been in that group all along he would have published something earlier.

Waltz maintains that no top secret into was posted, though the time and place of airstrikes seems secret to me.

not going to argue that. It was incompetence. A chat app of any kind has no business in that world.
The fact that they inherited it from the Biden Admin is no excuse. The Biden Admin shouldn't have been doing it
either.
the simplest explanation is an older guy who didn't understand new technology passed it off to a younger knowledgeable and trusted aid.

if it's anything like WhatApp, you have to be an administrator to add people. you can request to be added but the admin must approve. it will then show up that a person was added..not sure how signal works??

I haven't had Signal installed for a while, but if I remember correctly, if you want to lock the group so that only the admin, or admins, can add members to the group, it requires and extra step to set it up that way. It's not that way by default.

Don't quote me on that.
