I climbed the fence when I was diagnosed with Cancer and found out how easy it was going to be to lose everything I've ever worked for with a single medical diagnosis.

I was lucky and that didn't happen but I did figure out that neither political party was in it for us.

I drive a 10 year old car. My tabs are $150 a year. I don't buy many toys new. I buy shit used off of craigslist or similar. *Most* groceries aren't taxed in Washington State. There is no income tax in Washington State.

I'd have to dig in to it a little but other than property tax, I don't believe I pay that much in State taxes.

My corporate taxes went up with Trump's 2017 tax law. Eliminated deductions so the min was 21%

I think we had a couple of people on here who had to pay more taxes after Trumps tax breaks? They lost the SALT deduction.

Maybe, but I would bet it's a lot less than you think it is.

If I had a boat, a couple of 4 wheelers, a motorcycle... I'd think you might be on to something.  I do have a kayak that I bought on craigslist. 

Prepared food is taxed in Washington State, but I rarely eat out. It cost too much.

It's pretty messed up we get taxed on the sweat of our brow then taxed to eat. It's like the plot of a post apocalyptic dystopian novel.

Typically when I see a flat tax being discussed, it's about easier tax code (removing removing tax loopholes etc), the poor not paying any taxes, getting rid of the IRS...

Funny, it's ALWAYS a "loophole" when we get to keep more of what WE earned.
