So, he got scared and pulled the trigger.

I remember some national guardsmen doing that one in Ohio.

If that's the way you see it.

I see both cases as people who have deadly force at their disposal letting emotion and fear control their action. In neither case were lives in immediate danger.

I'll tell you, I'm probably letting another local event affect my opinions.

During the swatting incident a few years ago, Justin Rapp, a sniper with the swat team, killed unarmed Andrew Finch, with absolutely no justification. It cost the city 5 million dollars. Rapp expressed no remorse at all, telling a supervisor that if he saw the victims family he would tell them to get over it. This motherfucker should be in prison with BTK but he got promoted instead.

It still pisses me off.

Not an ignorant question at all.

1) Yes. Congress can absolutely open an investigation.
2) There are no limits theoretically speaking for investigations.

The delicious part of this is that they MUST testify. By acquiring their pardons, they in effect lose their right to plead The 5th. In practical terms they are like a suspect that turns state's evidence and has been granted immunity. Because they cannot be charged for the crimes they were pardoned for they have no reason to plead the 5th. Now for the REALLY delicious part, even though they have been pardoned for whatever, if they perjure themselves, the perjury is not covered under the pardon.

The reality is it's all theater. If I were Trump. I would have every one of them charged, tried and convicted in abstentia with felonies retroactively so they lose their 2nd Amendment Rights. You can be pardoned, but it doesn;t take away the convition. I'd at least try it anyway.

I theory you are correct. Reality is with the majority old these old farts is they can say "I don't recall" and be 100% believable. Biden could say that as an answer for "what did you have for breakfast today?" and be believable.

How could he have them convicted? Doesn't that require evidence? Or is that part of our justice system going to be swept under the rug in the name of spite, revenge, and ignorance?

I think the majority will be left alone. A few select turds that refuse to flush may get the special treatment though. I think Pelosi, Cheney, Fauci, and Milley.

Good chance they ALL get their Security Clearances pulled though. That would be epic.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2025/01/20/cnn_biden_pardoned_multiple_family_members_minutes_before_end_of_term.html

QuoteIt was back in December of 2020 that he told our colleague, Jake Tapper, regarding reports of Donald Trump at the time potentially preemptively pardoning his own children: "In terms of the pardons, you are not going to see in our administration that kind of approach to pardons. It is just going to be totally different, the way in which we approach the justice system." Well, as it turns out, Anderson, there is another promise broken. That is exactly how he has ultimately decided to approach the justice system.

This is a decision that is going to raise so many alarming questions about the legal precedents that this now sets. It would have been really one of the very final acts for President Biden as a sitting president.

Incog calling someone else a Doombass is like Trump ridiculing someone else of being a convicted felon.

Now, Incog, I know it's mid afternoon on a Monday so you're probably already 8 beers in, but try and answer the question: How can Trump have them convicted?
