Interesting how 'boring' dividend stocks outperformed in this down market.
All the Dividend ETFs i have are in the bottom half of this evaluation. BOO HISS

Quote from: mkd on May 26, 2022, 08:12 AMOn an amount of capitol lost basis this crash has already been the worst in history. On a percentage basis, the S&P500 still has room to drop. Like another 40% as a worse case scenario maybe? NASDAQ lead the charge lower so maybe not much more downside there.
It all depends on which metric you use. I'm hearing the S&P P/E ratio is getting to 5 year average norms, which is encouraging. Recession is never(?) priced into forward P/E estimates, so sentiment will reign with volatility ahead.
i should go on CNBS; 200 words and listener left with no idea. ;D  ::)

I don't know what you mean but it reads brilliantly.

If I get back close which I don't think will happen in the next year or more , I'm getting out.

Not to be a dick but you said a similar thing a couple years ago. They say nobody can time the market consistently. Hope it worked out last time. Towards retirement conservative portfolios are recommend with larger portion in bonds. Too bad bond market hasn't done this bad since 1842.
Have you looked into covered call income  ETFs ? They have done a bit better than the market this year.

MKD , I did get out and it was a good move just based on a gut feeling.

With the uncertainty of the world today I feel it could all go to hell in a heartbeat.

So the SEC fails to do anything about melvin capitol (out of business, btw) shorting OVER 100% of the float....TWICE..... Reddit user roaring kitty gets all diamond hand retail investors to jump in and short squeeze GME and put Melvin Capitol out of business.... and their response is to make fun of the retail traders that made bank??????????????????????????????

Quote from: mkd on June 01, 2022, 10:12 AMPut in $10k per SSN today and another $10k in january. It's as risk free as 'risk free' can get.

Adjusts with inflation every 6 months. 9.62% interest right now. Not bad...
