Blackberry.

My reasoning for it being a solid investment was they had a lot of patents, and a ton of cash,  and would either turn the company around, or get bought out for their patents - so either way there was stock going up. They were already basically a trash stock, and had a number of high gain, and valid lawsuits on players like Facebook -  I figured if they lost the suits it wouldn't affect their stock much, but if they won, lookout.

But I wasn't expecting it to take this long - and well timing is everything. Also not telling your wife >_< she wasn't comfortable with investing more. although she's right about a lot of things.

yes, but I now avoid the comments. I only use it to clue into news I might not be aware of, but the comments section is poisonous and can throw you off your plan if you read into it too much. Also overrun with bots at this point.

Stocktwits & /r/WallStreetBrats are the 4chan of online trading

I use Zacks.com some for info. They are rating BB as a (2) buy right now, not a (1).

I've used them in the past. They base their rating system off of earnings estimate revisions. There's validity to that methodology.

I use StockCharts. Plus Fidelity has a lot of good tools for stocks like Equity Summary Score, Recognia Technical Analysis, etc.

Next longterm bet - KL , Kirkland lake gold.  I'm a little too emotionally close to this because I grew up near Kirkland lake ... buuuuut this is a company with solid fundamentals. Fundamentals! The antithesis of what's going on right now.  But if we want to believe that reality will prevail, having stake in some solid gold miners probably not a bad thing once something happens, bitcoin falls apart again etc.

Other metals bet, cobalt,  being First Cobalt was up %300 for me, still felt that had room to go because of the intrinsic value of the only holder of north american cobalt mines, but's been trickling down. Goes a bit lower and I'll probably buy more around .2
although investing on the canadian exchanged brings some fees and penalties - also occasionally I catch a glimpse of prices in canard ducats and it throws me off.

I've been holding MP materials. Speculative..

Reddits Wall Street bets really moved markets on GME and BB.
Wish I would have listened to Tyler on that one,😓

Alright now that I have your attention let's talk public healthcare .... jkjk

The GameStop thing was pure Internet buffoonery - in a real world your short made a ton of sense. GameStop has been looking like RadioShack. But I guess the brand has more emotional worth in 2021

Robinhood day traders vs. hedge funds. Robinhood day traders winning the battle, but the war is not done.

That didn't take long for you to go back to your FOS ways.
Short sellers manipulation by going in 150% of the float, but it's the retail traders who are the baffoons?

There's definitely some crazy going on in the markets caused by people who don't know what they're doing.

As an example, by this point in the pandemic, everyone has heard of the video conferencing software Zoom. Investors piled into stock symbol ZOOM driving the price from under $2 to over $20.

The trouble was the stock symbol for the conferencing software is ZM.

Symbol ZOOM is currently trading at $.018
