I can't wait to move back to the Pacific Northwest. My neighbors will be delighted to know that it no longer takes a 4-6 hour drive to get there.

What a maroon ehem er, Stable Genius.

"Now, the water released from dams at Lake Kaweah and Lake Success is rushing into a dry lakebed in the Central Valley, where experts say it can't flow to Southern California and will likely go to waste.

"There is absolutely no connection between this water and the water needed for firefighting in L.A.," said Peter Gleick, a climate and hydrology expert. "There's no physical connection. There's no way to move the water from where it is to the Los Angeles basin."

Gleick, who co-founded the Pacific Institute, a research center in Oakland, says the move ignores the reality of water management in California.

"The farmers in the basin own the water and that water is stored in these dams in the winter, during the rainy season, so that farmers can use it in the very hot, long, dry summer season," he explained.

From the perspective of the farmers, he said, the water is "assumed to be lost.""

"As reported by Politico, the Army Corps of Engineers released water from two reservoirs in the Sierra Nevada — the Corps opened Terminus Dam at Lake Kaweah and Schafer Dam at Success Lake — though there wasn't much warning ahead of time.

"Local water managers on the Kaweah and Tule rivers had to move equipment and alert farms about possible flooding with only an hour's notice," Kaweah River Water Master Victor Hernandez told the outlet, calling the situation "alarming and scary.""

That's the Central Valley, and it wouldn't matter anyway. Might as well Divert water from Lake Huron.

The only people more clueless than Trump on this matter are those who blindly and loyally defend his actions.

No, I said that Trump said the water was coming from the Pacific NW (and beyond) and that he didn't know what he was talking about.

You're the only one talking about valves located in the Pacific Northwest.

Sorry *pumps*

Quote from: neurosis on January 28, 2025, 03:54 PMHow is it that he can't get off of this b/s that there is a pump that is going to bring water in from the Pacific NW and beyond.

I didn't say the pumps were in the Pacific NW either. Trump never said where the pump (or valve) was located. I asked WTF he was talking about and everyone started posting links and pictures of pumps and waterways in Northern California and telling me that Northern California was in the Pacific Northwest.

I know you're hunting for a gotcha moment, but I don't think this is going to be it. Don't worry though, I'll give you plenty of other chances.  :D  We have a lot of time left.
