Quote from: TSmcam on January 30, 2025, 12:21 PMYeah, a baked bean sammich is ghetto.

We have baked beans on toast, with cheese on top. Basic food.

Baked beans in a can a thing over there?

Other food differences?

We call Sprite or 7 Up lemonade here.

Your corndogs we call hot dogs. Your hot dogs we call American Hot Dogs

Your chips, we call potato chips (or the Pommie imports call them crisps)

Your fries, we call hot chips (though they're called Fries at McDonalds or Burger King)

And we dont have mint M and M's here. Dammmit....

One other thing to clarify.

Are these Baked Beans or Pork n' Beans.

There is a difference. :D

Beans on toast is NOT a thing here, as far as I know.

About the only time I eat baked beans is at a barbecue place or a picnic along with some cole slaw and fried chicken. Sometimes out of a can, sometimes home made. I like them hot and spicy.

Are beans a normal part of your breakfast, like the U.K.? I will never understand that.  :D

Baked Beans are sometimes eaten as breakfast food. To clarify, baked beans here are typically out of a can, and in are in a tomato sauce. No meat of any kind.

and can't imagine Manufacturing or other aspects.

Kinda like Hawaii but Farther away.

I remember the quake in Christchurch and thought there wasn't much there.

In Montana most shops are 1 person or 2 person shops not a lot there.

Unless you can find a major supplier and there are very few.

Christchurch has a population of about 500000. The whole country has a population of about 5 million.

We're a bit bigger than a speck, and we have a lot of manufacturing here. And quite varied.

That would be one hell of a way to start your day..  It would definitely keep people out of the programming room. :D

Happy late b-day by the way.

Except for lunch or dinner, I have never used baked beans (or beans of any kind to my knowledge) in the ways listed in the ad. It's interesting to see how cultures evolve. Sort of like how spam is popular in Hawaii.
