I wouldn't be here if not for TB...

My parents meet at a sanitarium. TB breakouts were common in the 40's and 50's (guess that vaccine either was limited in effectiveness or most people never got it.

That vaccine was actually a vaccine, it contained a weakened live virus. Not like today's vaxxes that are a chemical with vax in the title.

It was pretty effective. But TB never became widespread enough here to distribute it widely.

And better treatment options came about not long after the vaccine was developed.
