I had a couple pinto's, the soft cam shafts in those 2.4L engines sucked.  I replaced them at least once in each of the pinto's I owned.

They also looked and sounded a hell of a lot cooler than anything we have today.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a restored El Camino in a parking lot.
It was sitting there idling and the engine was just loping along.
You could tell it had a cam in it and you could smell the half burnt gas and hot headers.
Nothing they build today sounds that good!
Man that brought back memories.

I love the sound from a built 2 or 4 rotor. Especially with a big turbo. They sound like an F1 car driving down the street.

My Wife recently got a Rivian RS1.  No cool motor sounds but its really quick.
