we too feel your pain. have a 97 machine here with 62k memory only 46 usable for program load. we do a lot of dnc dancing with this machine, it is a money maker and just wont die.
its a Fanuc om mate so dont think we have much option for upgrade and or $$

Did you remove all spaces yet?

you can probably set a parameter to remove the decimal point and run with smallest possible commanded increment(1.0000 on a 4decimal machine becomes 10000.....) but not sure you really want to party that way....
