Zelensky caves

Quote"We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this," the statement continued.

"Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively," Zelenskyy concluded.

Quote"We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same. Then we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work with the US to agree a strong final deal," he added.

I think cooler heads prevailed, and Zelensky realized his best path forward is to allow the U.S. to broker a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

Granted, Putin has a reputation for violating peace agreements on a whim, but having U.S. interests as part of the equation definitely changes the math for him in the future.

I wonder if Zelensky will tell them that he will only sign it if it's a "memorandum" worded in a way that if he breaks the deal, nothing is done about it

I'm curious about what you think Security Guarantees should look like in Ukraine. What would those guarantees require of us if Russia breaks it's deal, which it probably will if Putin lives long enough.

Slide them a few Nuclear weapons and let them fend for themselves? :D Since that memorandum obviously wasn't worth the paper it was written on.

Do you think Ukraine would be better off now if they had never agreed to denuclearize in the first place?

I would say we don't know and we can't know.

Any attempt is really just supposition

If it is supposition we should be in the Tariff thread.

So far I haven't heard anyone pay a dime yet.

Maybe Tomorrow? :)

Well said.
The past is the past and we can't change it.

I think Trump is making a sincere effort to end the war.
I know the haters are still going to hate him, but if he succeeds it will bring an end to the bloodshed and bring at least some stability back to Europe, which benefits the whole world.

Supposition... the See Eye A lives there. They are the epitome of the self licking ice cream cone. In the early 90's they predicted Russia would invade Ukraine. So they did everything in their power to make sure that happened. When the color revolutions failed to do it, they had to get drastic... get talks of Ukraine joining NATO going. That was the straw the broke the camels back, then those shitbirds got all proud and said "... see, we told you Russia would invade...".

And didn't he say in an interview that the U.S. will have to send over soldiers to fight? Fuck this guy.
He's a pompous arrogant fuck puppet that just wants more and more money to line his pockets and buy more coke.

Rumor my ass,  They're arresting military age men that refuse to go to the front lines.  There's a shit ton of videos on  the interwebs.
