MANY people (myself included) believe the amendment regarding citizenship and birth was NEVER meant to "protect" children born here illegally.

This is not the same argument as what's going on with 2A... states and localities are CLEARLY violating the Constitution. "shall not be infringed". There is ZERO ambiguity there... unless you're an illiterate fool.

There is a degree of ambiguity with the 14th and it stems from the "jurisdiction thereof" wording. People have just assumed it meant X without even adjudicating it in light of criminal trespass or illegal immigration..

Nobody is assuming anything. The precedence has already been settled. It's being challenged. I'm sure that you know that already but disagree with it? Hell, I don't agree with it either.

Trump, who is obviously being coached on these things, is pushing every boundary he can to blow up the safeguards built in to our government.
