Haven't all these "Tariffs" just been bargaining tactics?

All I know is Neuro is real horny for tariffs

No, Canada has had extreme tariffs on US dairy products, cars, lumber and agricultural goods for years

"The average tariff the United States levies against the world is 2.71%. The world, in turn, tariffs U.S. goods, on average, at 6.7%,"

Like the EU has a 10% tariff on vehicles from the US. And we have 2.5% on cars and 25% on pickups from there. Nothing makes sense and most everything is designed to punish the US. Trump is attempting to make everything fair.

You misspelled "strong arm tactics".  :D

He's floated replacing income tax with tariffs. I don't think he's bargaining. My opinion, he wouldn't have backed off on the 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada if the stock market hadn't reacted so poorly.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

"To summarize, products from Canada and Mexico were set to be subject to 25% tariffs, except for "energy or energy resources" from Canada, which were set to be subject to 10% tariffs. These tariffs have been delayed for 30 days (until March 6) following commitments from Canada and Mexico to enhance their border security efforts."

Think hard about what he actually got from Canada. It amounted to nearly nothing.

I'll concede that Mexico was beneficial but I'm just basing that on a feeling and not any research I've done.

If he got what he wanted and it was a bargain, why did he put a delay on it?

He's getting Canada to pony up some of their money and equipment to fortify the border so we can send our resources to other places that are actually needed more. No, Canada isn't a high risk portion of the border, but we still need to secure it.

And he delayed it to allow Canada to get their shit together. If they don't do what he asks then after 30 days he turns the tarrifs back on. Not too difficult to understand

I have a different view of "not too difficult to understand" and it's not the same as yours.

Troops on the border and cutting down on Canadian made fentanyl is nearly nothing?

Do you look any of this stuff up?  This was already agreed on before the tariffs.  And how much fentanyl comes from Canada?

Any amount of it is too much.
You realize how potent that shit is? A tiny amount can kill a person.
The size of 10-15 grains of table salt is lethal, 2milligrams.
