Quote from: neurosis on March 05, 2025, 02:49 AMHere is a break down of what it cost for a family to raise two children in King County, Washington.
I'd say that the food and Healthcare costs are a little inflated, but based on what I pay for property tax, (almost $5000 a year) it makes up for that difference.

My g/f's daughter and son in law are raising a 4 person family (2 adults and 2 children) in Seattle. I think their mortgage is something like $4800 a month and I'm afraid to ask what their property tax cost.

What kind of money do they make to afford a $4800 mortgage?

Back when her daughter and son in law got out of high school (they were high school sweet hearts), they decided that both would work full time jobs to put the son in law through college with an agreement that when they had kids, he would work and she would be a stay at home mother. It was a struggle and cost them a LOT of money. He spent 4 years at UW.

I'm not sure what his major was, but he's worked in the financial department for just about every tech company in Seattle. He works for Amazon now. I think he's bringing in somewhere around $200k per year. She stays at home and watches their two kids.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Prove me wrong.
How many poverty stricken areas in this country are ran by Republicans?

I keep saying that I wish all of these tech companies would move to Texas so the Seattle area would return to normal. Back when Boeing was the largest employer it was a lot nicer place to live.

The entire Eastern side of Washington State. Overrun by drug addicts and a complete shit hole to live in. All run by Republicans who are constantly complaining about the West side politics ruining their side of the State. If it weren't for the tax revenue generated by King County, those areas wouldn't have a pot to piss in.

Poor people aren't exclusive to Democrat run areas. That's just what Fox news tells you to believe.

That's probably why the East side wants to be annexed by Idaho to get away from those Republican mayors.

I never said it was exclusive to Democrat ran areas.
But the overwhelming majority of them are Democrat ran areas. That is an undeniable fact.
