Kill the Forum?

Well, if you look at the forum member stats, there are less than less than 100 people that have full member status. Going even further, the majority of interaction is from about 25-30 users. I'd say it's only about 96%-97% percent.

I wasn't going to vote but I couldn't see how the vote was going without voting. So I voted to kill it just because I figured it would be the only vote. To my surprise there was another vote to kill it.

In all of the years of back & forth between this forum and Emc, I don't think there has really been a single opinion changed on either side.

I've had people change my mind a few times over the years as well. Some times not right a way, and some times not in the way they intended.

I have been a Mastercam user again for about 14 months.  I really don't care for the software but I do enjoy being back on the new OT forum.  I don't post much but do surf the conversations daily for a good laugh.  Nothing typed on the internet can change my mood.   I vote to keep it.  "Are you not entertained" comes to mind..... the answer is yes...yes I am entertained.  Ban yourself, Bucky and Smit for 30 days and I probably wouldn't even bother to come here anymore.  Its important to hear different views.

I don't contribute a whole bunch but I gotta tell ya, this is the only forum I frequent. I can relate to everyone here. I see the rough banter back and forth and I get it, It's like that everywhere.
I would totally understand if it was "getting old" to you as I do see a lot of negative energy pointed at you but that's because you engage us all in thought and discussions and I appreciate that about you.

I voted to keep it alive as I have been talking to you all off and on for years!

Being a Mastercam user is not a requirement for membership here.
However, you must be certifiably crazy. This is mandatory.

As far as killing the forum goes, if it's a pain in the ass to maintain, kill it. If you're worried about peoples feewings, I seriously doubt that anyone gets too butthurt over what another stranger on the internets says.

There's also another option for all of us users: take a break for a while.

I'm a daily lurker, but my opinion is do what's best for you. I agree with @DUM1 that I get a good laugh pretty much daily, but I don't need that laugh if it's a headache to maintain.

That said, I did vote to keep it, but it would be nice if there were a few less political arguments, and if every single thread didn't turn into a political argument... JM2C FWIW

But seriously, I couldn't agree more with Bucky and others who have said that if it is causing you grief on a personal level, shut it down, or just hand it off and take a break.

I'm with Doug in that I didn't cast a vote either.
We're all playing on your dime, and your time and effort, which I personally appreciate, so the decision should be yours alone.

Either way I am OK with it.
