I had bought one not too long before our incident. Our furnace was old and rusty, so I knew it was a possibility. I had to look up what the beeping pattern meant. It was a smoke and co detector.

He was 95, I'm not sure if he could have done anything too physical if she were to put up a struggle.

The reports I've read said was found in the "mud room" and he'd been dead for "quite some time"
One dog, A German Shepard was found dead near his wife's body.
Two other dogs were still alive.

Doesn't everyone have a CO detector in their house these days? I think my condo has 3 of them.   

I've got 3 or 4... just in the main floor. Probably 8 or 9 of the 13 detectors are CO².

I bought some on amazon that are CO and smoke detectors.  They are connected to Wi-Fi and send an alert to my phone if one goes off.  Thought this maybe handy if we're not home, I could call a neighbor to let the doggos out.
