Yes. All the so called carnie studies don't line up with the totality of scientific info. Almost everyday the sky appears blue. Then on occasion during a storm or other meteorological event the sky appears differently. That does not make that the new reality or norm. To date, there is no scientific evidence from the carnie camp that disproves the long known science of lipidology and heart disease.

Quote from: Tim Johnson on March 12, 2025, 05:25 AMThere are two different types of meat . You have the factory type and the organic type. The factory type is just interested in getting the animals as large as they can and as fast as they can. This type gets chemicals that will create what they are looking for. The organic type is grown as nature intended. Cattle will mainly eat pasture grass, pigs will mainly dig for their food, chickens will eat bugs.

Right now the factory animals are making children taller and larger due to the growth hormones the animals are given.

I agree with this in the fact the quality of protein can vary greatly depending on how it is produced. However, cholesterol from organic meat still has the same effects and all cholesterol.

I have more than one vegan acquaintance that has high cholesterol. Spounting that your diet is better is simply bullshit. Excess amounts of anything can be bad for you. How about preaching a diet of moderation? Yes, it would include the good stuff, meat.

There is a very small subset of people that are hypocholesterolemia types, they are the outliers. For the rest of us, high blood cholesterol and high saturated fat intake are slowly laying down plaque in the arteries. Heart disease is the number on killer in America. Along with that are even higher numbers of people that will live but will have major life affecting complications. The relationship of dietary cholesterol and CAD is so well known that if you google it for an image like the one below you get hundreds, if not thousands of hits.

yo Psycho, that was an interesting article seems pretty light as far as info goes just targets the push for meat through advertising which we all know that advertising is always lies and half-truths.  What I really find interesting is how people think cows and chickens are a climate factor, talk about "brain washing" there were literally millions of bison roaming the planes not too long ago along with way more deer and elk and so forth, killed off to wipe out the indigenous population. What the scary part about the meat company <blackrock> is what they do to the meat while its grown and being processed, that there would be an article worth reading the hormones, radiation and additives and all the other weird stuff who knows what.
You wanna convert people? punch some articles about that up.
I don't necessarily have rose colored glasses, but I do love meat, and it seems to have kept people alive and healthy for a while.
The bad health about the meat I believe is the additives that people consume on a daily basis

I won't disagree with you but first consider this;

My wife is a vegan and has high cholesterol. She is a hypercholesterolemia type. She has genetic disposition that the body's mechanism to pull excess free cholesterol from the small intestines does not work correctly. Estimates are that about 5% of the population are this way. On the other hand, I fit nicely into the majority of the population when it comes to cholesterol, I had high cholesterol, I changed my diet and now it is right where it is supposed to be for a 20 year old.

Moderation is good, but unless you are getting artery scans every couple years to measure plaque build up how do you know what is the right amount of moderation for you?

I remember 25 years ago an undercover journo doing a TeeVee piece in the UK....  they worked on 2x farms which grew cattle for MaccyDees.
#1 farm fed them water, and polystyrene covered in growth hormones.
#2 farm fed them water, and cardboard covered in growth hormones.
The poly/card was for "substance" to give cattle "something to chew".
I do wonder if this is the reason why kids of that era (and following) are taller and girls have developed larger breasts (teenagers maturing faster) etc....

how do you know what the cholesterol level is supposed to be? the "science" changes every few years it seems.
same with blood pressure.
more of what's killing people then the diet hypertension due to stress, work your ass off day and night and get taxed into poverty, never ending taxes till the day you die.
