My neighbor was having some landscaping work done today. 3 guys were doing it. All veterans. One was a Marine and one was a Navy Seal who was in Beruit. He was 61. He got shot in the thigh-buttocks region. He's 61 now and went in when he was 19. Said he had been on meds for PTSD for a long time. He said he wouldn't do it again. It was hell he said. He was a nice guy and I thanked him for his sacrifice to serve the country. He runs an American Vets place now and landscaping on the side. It was an honor to meet him and his help.

He got shot saving another by getting him to cover and he was just short of getting cover for himself when he was shot.

When my son signed up with the National Guards in his senior year of high school I had a chance to talk with with recruiter who is a great Soldier and greater human being.

During our talk the whole PTSD and meds came up to which the Soldier behind him turned around and introduced himself. He had just finished 2 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and was being kicked out of the service. He was just trying to re-up as he had decided he was going to try and go for a career in the military at this point in his life. He and his wife had two young kids and his skill sets were geared all from his military training. The Guards had become their life.

He was being denied his re-signup due to he had been placed on meds due to his PTSD from his service. He and the Sargent were nearly in tears together as they explained this to me for my son. They were just trying to make sure we understood the full sacrifice that may be given. He had no regrets other than he wanted to continue to serve. He would continue to get benefits through the VA but now his family would have none and he'd be started from scratch for his lively hood.

God Bless that gentleman that was running the vets place he was telling you about Del. If you can recall the name and if they have a website please post it or PM me and I'd like to donate to it.

Thanks for sharing your story
