Quote from: gcode on March 26, 2025, 10:46 AMWe have an Okuma VTM-1200 and a Mori Seiki NT6600. Mastercam MillTurn is not available for either machine.
I program them with regular Mastercam and Postability posts.
We get good code, maybe 99.5% edit free, but it was a ton of work getting there and it's a ton of work to program.
The main problem is, if you don't do it every day, you forget all the misc. integer settings and work arounds required
to get good code.
We have the CUBLEX Series of machines.. it's a full featured VTL, full featured Horizontal Lathe, full featured 5-Axis... with a tailstock. I use Mastercam Lathe for it and yeah... it's a chore. I use a VTL as my base machine and turn ALL the things on.

I don;t do enough projects on it to remember all the thingI have to do, T/C planes have to be just right. Tool defined just right.

But, it is manageable. Could be worse. Could be BobCad. :P

I could not make Esprit do a single fuckin thing without taking a class. It is the single most unintuitive piece of software ever created.
same here I did take the classes in Chicago and it sucked balls and the cam still sucked balls , never coulld get the post updates to make a par safely, ended finally alking them in to getting mastercam and low and behold the verts and horizontals started paying off
