Never thought I's see something like this in Newsweek

QuoteIt started with a nice gesture. Adam Anderson, the CEO of Innovex Downhole Solutions, wanted to buy his employees a Christmas gift. So he ordered 400 North Face jackets and asked that their corporate logo be included.

Then came the bad news. The North Face company would sell Innovex the jackets but wouldn't include the energy company's logo. The reason? Innovex was an oil and gas company, and it would be a bad thing for North Face's public image to associate itself with the industry.

Not happy with that answer, Anderson struck back with some public relations of his own. It turns out the vast majority of North Face's apparel—its hoodies, snow pants, coats and many other items in its product line, like backpacks and tents—are made with polyester, polyurethane and nylon, all of which come from petroleum. Even its fancy fleece jackets are made of polyester.

Does this braindead company think that polyester, nylon and polyurethane grow on trees?

LOL...apparently they do!

Don't worry though.
When the oil and gas industries are shut down, North Face employees can get other jobs.

Innovex should go with Under Armour anyway.
They will put your corporate logo on their stuff without judging you.

Or it's about it being more important to be perceived as environmentally conscious than to actually be environmentally conscious.

Gotta rack up those woke points. It's the new currency of the realm.

Hey, UA doesn't control who buys their stuff.
Their CEO was critical of Trump, but that came mostly out of Trump's public criticism of Baltimore at the time.
UA is an American-owned company that stays out of politics for the most part, and I have no problem buying their stuff.

If we ONLY deal with companies who match our political views 100% the marketplace gets very small.

They sponsor teams and individual athletes they can most certainly control who buys their stuff, to a degree.
Also I'm playing a bit of devil's advocate here as well.  :ice:

Yeah, I get that.
The point was that North Face decided to hypocritically judge an energy company without realizing how stupid they sounded when we consider the fact that the vast majority of their products are petroleum-related.

All I was saying is that afaik, UA has a whole corporate logo division that will print your logo on their products without judging you.
It's called doing business, and it's nice to see there are still a few companies that value earning money more than they value earning woke points.
