We use lots of steel forgings here.
We used to get them from a foundry in Mississippi, but they shut down.
Now they come from Canada. They are supplied by our customer and so far the tariffs have had no impact
on our business.
Time will tell.
If they get expensive enough, maybe the Mississippi foundry will open back up?

Many things are still covered under USMCA, so even though there are. Blanket tariffs a lot of products are still getting imported every day tariff free. Forging should qualify

Yes but it depends on the wood species, and for the most part I would say 'No'.   That said, our drying/aging process is better than anyone else making guitars.

June 12 (Reuters) - A range of imported household appliances including dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators and more will be subject to President Donald Trump's expanded steel tariffs starting later this month, according to a notice posted on Thursday.
The tariffs, which are currently at 50% for most countries, would take effect on an additional range of "steel derivative products" on June 23, the Commerce Department said in the notice.

The appliance situation was an argument against the tariffs.

The last time imported appliances were tariffed (trumps first term), US made appliances raised their prices to meet the price of the imported appliances and they soaked up the profit. We didn't get a break on US made products.

Greedy corporations are going to be greedy. Who can blame them?

Many years ago the same thing happened when a tariff was placed on imported (Japanese I believe) cars. Domestic car manufacturers raised prices to reap the benefits. The consumer paid the price.

I don't blame them, but it was predictable.
