Should Amazon and others show tariff surcharges for each purchase?

I'm curious how people feel about this.

Personally, I'd like to see how much the tariffs are costing me.

Would there be any good reason you wouldn't want to see the extra charge?

That would be a great idea.

So then I take it you wouldn't want to see the tariff surcharge listed?

I'm just trying to see if anyone has a good reason that it shouldn't be listed. Other than not wanting to inform people how much this is costing them.

I seriously don't care. If something cost too much I don't buy it.

I would want to see the tariffs cost and I would also want to see the name of the country that manufactured that product.

I do my absolute best to avoid buying from China.
Sometimes, it is simply not possible.
Then I have to decide whether I really need it or not.
I will pay more to avoid Chinese products.
Just this week I needed a cleaning rod for an old Swedish Mauser I own.
The Chinese kit was $12, the Made in USA was $34 and appeared to be much higher quality.
I bought the Made in USA kit.

China's goal is world domination and when we buy from China, we are funding our own destruction.
I won't be alive to see it, but some of the younger people here may.

I couldn't care less.
If it's not the price I am willing to pay, I simply don't buy it.
Pretty simple concept actually. Kinda like we've done our entire lives.
But now that orangemanbad "invented" these things called tariffs, we need to know why the price is what it is all of a sudden.

I am for complete transparency. I'd like to see tariff charges, taxes, country of origin, pretty much everything for anything I purchase. Doesn't matter if its a gallon of gas or a box of cereal or a prescription or a car.

I think that would be a great idea too. That way you could see the price difference and make an educated choice of whether or not made in America is worth that price difference. We may find out that it is worth it.

No company will ever be so transparent that you can see every cost, expense, and profit. Tariff surcharge may be figured just to be a political statement. Other than seeing country of origin, I agree with Jeff, at the end of the day what is the cost and is the value worth that cost.

Would you care more if it were a Democrat that added a 20% sales tax?

There are some things that will be easy to figure out. Or close to it.

Anything I have a history of buying, I can see the price difference. I've already noticed a couple of things I purchased at the end of last year are close to 30% more expensive. I don't know if that's a tariff cost or something else.

No, but you surely wouldn't be talking about it then.
