I don't think I would want to be in Trumps crosshairs in this political environment.

Good for him.

He isn't wrong.

Throughout history many different forms of Gov have risen and fallen.  Our Democracy is relatively young, what's gonna change to cut our needless spending before our debt comes due??

Quote from: Rstewart on June 04, 2025, 05:22 AMIt's not been passed yet.  Yes, he has the last word, that was not my question Neuo.
Congress does Not work for the the people, they work for the donors Period.  That goes for Red, blue, green, doesn't matter.
Hell, half of these idiots didn't even read what's in it AND voted for it.  It even has over a Billion in funding for NPR and PBS.  I guess that means we have state funded media

Trump just needs to admit it isn't possible to cut spending, and look at a different route.  I don't have an answer and neither do you.

I feel pretty hopeless for our endless spending.
You've changed

IMHO....THEE problem here (and other countries too) will not be addressed until the new-fangled technocratic installation is completed.
Then once everything is truly linked and fully controllable - aka the financials - THEN, and only then, is when the debt will get addressed.
And at that time, the ones with shuteye will realise who the debt ultimately sits with when the FedReserve/BankofEngland/EuropeanBank etc start calling it in.... just a hunch

I just had a glimmer of hope that this admin could do better.  The aristocracy will always protect itself.  It's not some "deepstate" BS, it's just greed.
I do feel that Trump has intentions of doing great things, but there's way too many pieces of the puzzle.
Nothing will change

I think his idea of what it means to do great things is the problem.

Was he always a Rino? Or was he just labeled a Rino after he started saying that Trump was a pile of excrement?

I've heard his name before but he was never on my radar. A brief search says that he was an anti Obama Tea Party Republican
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

He doesn't swear fealty to the king so he's a RINO.

I don't like most of the tea party guys but maybe he's an individual who actually has principals. I'll give him respect for that.

It is, by design, a very craftily created system, of essentially faceless departments driven by think tanks all reliant upon eachother but with a distinct pecking order and direction.

Take the UK - everyone shouts and blames the Primeminister (justifiably so the fukpig), but nobody has a clue of the position of the cabinet secretary....their "power" and who they report to, let alone their name.

And for fun, BoZo Johnstone's one, who was also head of the home civil service (ie permanent Gov), and was previously the head of the UK National security, has now left the Gov and is currently a non-exec of BAE Systems, and senior adviser and supervisory board member of Rothschild & Co.
Oh, and also senior independent director and deputy chair of Lloyds of London.
Oh Oh....and also the chairman of the Atlantic Future Forum

And for any Canooks....just do a 'lil dive on Carney....

I'm assuming everyone still thinks their vote counts and people are elected and not selected?
Because take either Carney or Sedwill, I'm sure they leave civvy street, casting off their 2 or 3 mill PA wage, to go take the Gov job for 100k PA, because they're thinking of us - they're doing it "for the love of the people".

Anyone wanna buy a bridge?

I wonder if any "average" voter really believes that they will pay less taxes. From the little I've seen of this...its a big, beautiful, pile of shit, and we all are the ones who get to step in it.

You're the one that called him a RINO.

Reading through some of the things he said during the Obama admin, he sounds like your typical far right Republican. Up until 2020 anyway.

Del.

According to the CBO this Bill in current form would over a 10 year period reduce taxes 3.7 Trillion but would add 2.4 trillion to the deficit. Why not cut taxes 1.3 trillion and raise deficit 0. These are the same people who have us 36 trillion in debt.

What happens is every politician wants their share of spending for their projects to secure a yes vote for passage.

Don't forget complete deregulation of AI models for 10 years, that's nicely tucked in the BBB... That's not a dystopian nightmare at all. Not when there are software companies shilling pre-crime algortihms, and mass drone surveillance.
