I don't think that you and I are the biggest beneficiaries from the new tax cuts.

In fact, did they cut our taxes anymore, or just extend the last round?  That last tax cut got me about enough to buy 1.5 truck tires per year for my Tacoma.

edit: I guess they did raise the cap on the SALT deduction to $40,000. That does nothing for me, but helps you I assume.

Looks like it is still in there. Other than it has nothing to do with budget, that is one part of the bill I would agree with.

yes... that will help people who live in high state tax states like Cali and New York as the deduction is currently $10K

Even though it helps me, I don't approve of the $40k cap.
It's not right to make the rest of the country subsidize Cali and New York's high state taxes.

On the other hand, my wife and I paid $60K in Federal taxes and $25K in state income tax last year
so I'll take all the help I can get.

The Hill

QuoteThe Senate's version of the "big, beautiful bill," which passed on Tuesday, includes a $6,000 tax deduction for Americans 65 or older.

The provision does not entirely end taxes on Social Security, but it would zero out the Social Security tax burden for 88 percent of seniors, according to an estimate by President Trump's Council of Economic Advisers.

Holy Guacamole!!! I'm guessing you are adding all federal taxes together, not just income tax. Even then, that's considerably more than I paid. and the state tax was 5x more than I paid in Missouri.

That's almost more than 70% of US families earn per year. That's a lot of taxes.

Thank you for your services, G.
